At long last given a proper region 2 release, The Venture Brothers is another great show under the Adult Swim label. Based on the adventures of the naive teenage Venture Brothers, their super scientist Dad (a bald, middle aged man living amusing in the shadow of his father) and their violent bodyguard who has a license to kill and is constantly using it. The storylines are always funny, the villains are hilarious, and there isn't a weak link in the episodes as with so many other shows of today. This is definitely worth buying if you enjoy Adult Swim generally, and still definitely worth buying if you're a fan of witty, edgy comedy.

I bought this on a whim for something else to watch between my Futurama and Family guy DVD's, i was not expecting much (when it comes to these kinda shows im VERY VERY hard to please) This show is just freekin awsome! The animation is great and very fitting, its like a cross between the old 70's/80's cartoons and those grindhouse movies, and the humour is well timed and clever in bits! Brock Samson is clearly the best character in the show, based on all those classic cliched action heros and special agents' and the evil Monarch is a great twist on the typical badguy/evil genius. You dont however need to be in to the old cartoons to apreciate this (robot chicken and family guy have a very cult ; American culture based humor which often dont translate very well unless you know what the hell they are on about) take my word for it, its highly enjoyable' hurry up season 2 R2!
